I Don't Like Mondays

faith2000is a song by the Boomtown Rats written by Bob Geldof. I think you all know this song and it really represents my feelings today.
First of all almost hundreds of Emails waiting in my Inbox to be looked and answered at. Second the necessarity of having a task to be finished today with no change of prolongation. Third no change to start the task before, as the database was only provided in total by today. Fourth - there are some errors in one of the work of one colleagues which has an influence on the outcome of the task. Fifth - same collegue telling me she is already almost out of the door as she is only working part time and therefore she will not be in the office even one second longer. And as she already send the file in the Morning I had enought time to check the data. Seems I have nothing else to do. Sixt - this leads to the fact that I can do an estimation on my own, although this is not part of my job, but finishing the total task is. If I would think some time I assume I could mention a few other points. But 6 is enough. :-)
So what can we learn from this - in the end you are on your own. That is also the reason I prefer to do things on my own. Because sometimes in cases like this it seems that in the end, the only one I can rely on is myself. So much for the whole teambuilding we had last week. But actually this is no suprise in the end.
But on the other hand I really had a nice weekend. Very relaxing. I look forward to the next one and hope the few days in between will vanish immediately.
